Video Poker : Gambling Hints

Like to gamble on video poker machines? Step into any casino in Las Vegas and one thing you will quickly witness is that the casinos spend a ton of layout space on machines. Much of that floor space goes to Video Poker. If you have played electronic Poker for any amount of time, you understand that not all games were created the same. As the years have gone by, more and more "specialty" electronic poker machines have come into being. Today, I am going to share a few of my electronic Poker hints, I hope you'll like them.

Hint One: Finding a decent game

Discovering a great machine is as easy as observing the payout schedule. You actually want to stay away from unique pay games that have bigger top pay outs, but negate the lower pay outs. e.g., a machine could pay a little more on 4 of a kind, but will pay less on two pair, flushes and full houses. Since you will rack up lower scale pay outs often, due to the probability of acquiring these hands, you should be looking for a strong smaller scale pay out system.

Trick 2: Playing Technique

Figuring out how to gamble optimally is a must. Your betting tactic will, ultimately, decide your average return and your final bank roll value. Knowing what action to take in a situation where you have, for example, 2 Kings, but four to the flush is essential. Do you keep the Kings and the guaranteed cash or toss the dice for the difficult to hit flush? Competing on a great machine with a good technique will offer you an awesome chance to win cash over the long term.

Hint Three: It is random

Over the years, I have observed folks wager on Video Poker in Vegas relying on all sorts of bizarre movements. Most will only use cold coins to bet, some will depress the buttons super hard, some will hit the machine with their money prior to gambling and the list goes on and on. Each hand is setup by a random number generator. The instant you start to bet, the hand is set in stone. The game will at random choose all the cards from a 52-card deck and hand them out.

Pointer 4: There is Absolutely no memory

This is a big one. A lot of individuals figure that if they start to see hands with three of a kind, 4 to the royal and so on that the bigger hands are about to hit. This is just incorrect. As pointed out in pointer 3, the system uses a RNG to create the hands. The machine has absolutely no memory. It doesn't have knowledge that you haven't received a full house in four hundred hands or that you just received three, four of a kind hands in a row. It is probable you could go one hundred thousand hands without a four of a kind and it's possible to receive 10 in sequence. The game does not track, because in the end, the numbers work out.

I hope these pointers have helped you blossom as an electronic Poker player. False impressions on how the game works can be a whole lot more deadly than just gambling wrong. I've seen people spend (and lose) hundreds of dollars on a machine just because they thought the game had a memory and was "ready" to hit. Do not fall victim like this. Understand that Video Poker is just luck and must be wagered on carefully. Now, go enjoy yourself.
